ABOUT ME
Hi there
Here is a little bit about me.
I am a contemporary jewellery artist and graphic designer based in sweet little Adelaide, Australia. I grew up all over Australia but mostly in Perth, Darwin, Sydney and Adelaide. I try to live simply, holistically and with meaning.
I enjoy the beauty of animals, birds, flowers, fish and plants. I adore watching the changing of the seasons day by day. I am inspired by the simple elegance and craftsmanship of Japanese and Scandinavian design. I have a deep adoration of outback Australia and all of its mysterious secrets. I love rainbow colours, gemstones, watercolour inks, embroidery and white cotton/wool/silk. I love eating cherries, Japanese and Vietnamese food. I dream to live on a tropical island in a tree house (one day I will!). When I can, I travel the world to far away lands and get inspired by other places.
I don't like goats cheese, scary films or answering my mobile phone.
About my approach to jewellery making.
I believe that highly detailed and complex jewellery tends to work well with simple clothing. Alternatively I think that simple jewellery goes with busy prints and patterns. So I really needed to design both! My designs can sometimes be a mad flurry of detail and expression, and other times they are shockingly simple and elemental. Either way my jewellery is designed to be worn over and over again and a treasure to keep forever.
I regularly have stalls at design fairs and indie markets around Australia. This is of course my favourite way to sell my work because I get to meet my customers and have a chat. Please come and say hello if we ever cross paths, that would be nice.
